Updating steam hangs
Those who have purchased Steam Machines from the likes of Alienware, Syber, Zotac, and so on, don't forget you may still have a support agreement with them!It does not hurt, and it suggested, that you first try to reach out to your vendor the machine was purchased from. This page contains community-driven help for various Steam OS and Steam hardware issues. For most issues, it is asked that you please first check the Steam Universe community discussions (please note the subsections there) before checking this page. So, my question, does this sound like a normal issue? Here are my specs: Windows 10i5 6500 with onboard Intel 530Gigabyte Motherboard - GA-Z170XP-SLISea Sonic SSR-650RMCorsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2400 2x8gb Mushkin Enhanced ECO3 SSD 240gb (only HD right now)ASUS DVD Burner Thermaltake Core V-51I have installed all the latest drivers from Gigabyte.I installed the Gigabyte update utility and it installed the drivers for me.
Not many results for Steam Config Servers on Google, I did notice that 1.7 is required and changed in POL but this didn't help.
Always seek officially sanctioned support if possible, before relying on community troubleshooting.
See: Advanced System Recovery See the Common Installation Issues wiki page.
I do not have to be using Steam for the PC to freeze, I can be listening to music, surfing the web, watching videos etc.
When the process is enabled, the PC will freeze 5 mins to 45 mins after startup.
